I'm currently in my third year at the University of Worcester studying Fine Art. I intend to use this opportunity to gain knowledge and experience within the gallery, particularly focusing on the curatorial process. I will be questioning the role of the curator, how they make decisions about the context within which artworks are displayed. How they work with the artists intentions and how they ensure that the work is displayed in such a way that it is accessible and meaningful to the public. My own studio work involves audio pieces where this experience will give me the opportunity to realise how non traditional art forms are curated. Importantly realising how the curator creates a sense of flow throughout the gallery.

Becky Jeremy and Lindsey Newell will be acting as assistants to curators and the collections manager during the Worcester Open 2010, offering a student perspective whilst answering a Professional Work placement module as a part of their course work toward a Fine Art degree.

You can read their blog entries here in the coming weeks.

First visit of the PITT in it's almost complete state, still surprised how the small space could cater for the amount of work in there. As a salon style gallery it looks surprisingly good! Excellent.

Well done! passed phaseI!
